Movie Clip

Station West (1948) -- (Movie Clip) He Picks A Good Fight Emerging from an Arizona saloon, sometime after a military gold robbery, Dick Powell, who’s still pretty much a stranger to us, follows a soldier (Steve Brodie) with whom he argued, when some neat exposition introduces Agnes Moorehead as Mrs. Caslon, and Tom Powers as Capt. Iles, in Station West, 1948.
Scene Of The Crime (1949) -- (Movie Clip) Only Fools Bet Horses Three L-A cops (Van Johnson as Mike Conovan, with John McIntire and Tom Drake) investigating a colleague’s murder have followed the car that just picked up a suspect they were watching, to learn that he’s been grabbed by syndicate crook “Umpire” (Tom Powers), looking to set up a larger operation, in Scene Of The Crime, 1949.
They Won't Believe Me (1947) -- (Movie Clip) To The Jury Please Opening scenes, folksy lawyer Cahill (Frank Ferguson) beginning his defense of slippery Larry (Robert Young), brief introductions for Tom Powers, Janet Shaw, Jane Greer and others who will figure in the story, from They Won't Believe Me, 1947, also starring Susan Hayward.
Double Indemnity (1944) -- (Movie Cilp) Chinese Checkers Insurance man Walter (Fred MacMurray), fading as he confesses via Dictaphone to his boss, recalls his meeting with his lover and co-conspirator Phyllis (Barbara Stanwyck), her husband Didrickson (Tom Powers) and his daughter Lola (Jean Heather), in Billy Wilder's Double Indemnity, 1944.
Destination Moon (1950) -- (Movie Clip) Your Vindication The seminal if low-rent opening from producer George Pal, credits leading to scientist Cargraves (Warner Anderson) and General Thayer (Tom Powers) in a bunker, in the landmark post-WWII Science Fiction feature, from a story and script by Robert Heinlein, Destination Moon, 1950.
Destination Moon (1950) -- (Movie Clip) Only American Industry Ending the Walter Lantz-Woody Woodpecker cartoon they've cleverly had made to support their case for a privately-funded moon mission, industrialist Barnes (John Archer) lets General Thayer (Tom Powers) bring home the point to a gathering of investors, in George Pal's Destination Moon, 1950.
Destination Moon (1950) -- (Movie Clip) Weightless In Free Orbit In a well conceived sequence from Robert Heinlein's novel, Barnes, Cargraves, General Thayer and wiseguy Joe (John Archer, Warner Anderson, Tom Powers, Dick Wesson) feel some serious G's in the launch of the first manned moon mission, in producer George Pal's ground-breaking Destination Moon, 1950.
Tall Target, The -- (Movie Clip) Radical Republicans Railroad men Will Geer and Victor Kilian, cop Regis Toomey, star Dick Powell (as "Kennedy"), with Tom Powers, Adolphe Menjou et al, opening Anthony Mann's drama of the attempt on president-elect Lincoln's life, The Tall Target, 1951.
They Won't Believe Me (1947) -- (Movie Clip) Special Kind Of Dynamite Still narrating in flashback from his murder trial, Larry Balantime (Robert Young), set up by his well-to-do wife in a new job, Tom Powers his boss, aptly-described Susan Hayward (as "Verna") plotting, in They Won't Believe Me, 1947, produced by Joan Harrison.
